Grade 1: Answering Rhythms

Look at the melody below, taken from Baa Baa Black Sheep:



The second half, called the "answer", is similar to the first.


The rhythmic pattern of the whole melody is seen here:



When writing an answering rhythm, it is good to keep in mind the following rules:

1) Try to use similar rhythmic patterns

2) End on a long note (minim or semibreve)

Can you write a two-bar answering rhythm to this opening rhythm?
