Note Values
A note can be played quickly, or it can be held for a long time. It has different note values.
These are common note values:

Quavers can be grouped together to form a crotchet beat. You join two quavers like this:

A quaver can also be grouped with two semiquavers to form a crotchet beat. You join them like this:
